Trinity Tough

To a child, their bedroom should be a place to be themselves, feel loved and safe. To a child facing a medical crisis, their bedroom is where they gain the strength and comfort needed to heal.

We launched the Tampa Bay Chapter of Savvy Giving by Design in March of 2018, and our very first room recipient was Trinity!

Trinity was diagnosed in July of 2018, at the age of 2 ½, with Neuroblastoma, a complicated tumor in her neck. When the interior design team first met Trinity, she shared her beautiful personality, with bright smiles and generous hugs, even as she was fighting Neuroblastoma.

Our team uses the same process for our ‘Savvy’ rooms that we incorporate for all of our projects. We create concept boards for the room and the layout in AutoCAD. We review the needs of the room, function and storage needs. Then we look at the wish list for the room. Dreaming, reading and craft projects were top of the list for Trinity and her sisters!

This sweet family moved to Florida just one month prior to Trinity’s diagnosis. This meant they barely had time to unpack their belongings and set up the girls room. Trinity shares with her sisters Anastasia and Cierra so closet organization and access was super important.

A custom barn door was added to the closet for easier access to the entire space and to tackle closet organization.

A pink and purple wallpaper mural was applied to one wall, an accent of whimsical colors and pattern. New lighting added sparkle and shine and custom window treatments were also generously donated to create the perfect dark environment for resting when needed.

The girls were thrilled with their new space, with a surprise reveal in November, when they got to see their room for the first time.
